Privacy Policy for AR Size Compare
Effective Date: July 5, 2026 Last Updated: July 5, 2026
1. Introduction
AR Size Compare (the “App”) is a mobile utility application developed for Android. We value your trust and are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.
This App is not directed at children under 13, and its intended audience is a general (adult and teen) audience.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, store, or share any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, phone number, or physical address. The App does not require account creation, sign-in, or registration of any kind to use its core features.
3. Camera Access (Augmented Reality Features)
The App uses your device’s camera to power its Augmented Reality (AR) comparison features (for example, placing a virtual object, mattress, TV, or custom shape in your real-world environment via ARCore).
- The camera feed is processed in real time, on your device only, to detect flat surfaces and place AR content.
- The App does not record, save, capture, or transmit your camera feed or any photos/video to us or to any third party.
- Camera access is requested only when you open an AR comparison screen, and only for the duration you use that screen. You can revoke camera permission at any time via Settings > Apps > AR Size Compare > Permissions, though this will disable AR features.
4. Local Data Storage
The App uses local on-device storage (Android SharedPreferences) to remember your preferences and improve your experience, including:
- Unit preferences (Metric vs. Imperial).
- The last values entered into comparison tools (e.g., tire sizes, TV dimensions, custom shape dimensions).
- Ruler configuration settings (handedness/scale).
This data stays on your device, is never uploaded to a server, and is never shared with any third party. You can delete this data at any time by clearing the App’s storage or uninstalling the App via your device’s Settings > Apps.
5. Advertising (Google AdMob)
To keep this App free, we display advertisements via Google AdMob, which uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK.
Data collected by the Google Mobile Ads SDK: The Google Mobile Ads SDK automatically collects and shares the following for advertising, analytics, and fraud-prevention purposes: the Android Advertising ID, IP address (which may be used to derive approximate location), device and account identifiers, app information, and diagnostic data. This data is encrypted in transit using TLS.
Your choices:
- You can opt out of personalized (interest-based) advertising via Settings > Privacy > Ads (or Settings > Google > Ads, depending on your Android version), where you can also reset or limit your Advertising ID.
- If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you will be shown a consent request before any personalized advertising is served, in line with Google’s EU User Consent Policy. You may withdraw or change this consent at any time through the in-app privacy/consent options.
Google’s own policy: For more detail on how Google uses data from apps that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
6. Third-Party Services
The App relies on the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:
- Google Play Services / ARCore: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK): https://support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543
7. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding data processed by third-party services used in this App (such as Google AdMob):
- Access & Portability — request a copy of data associated with your device/advertising identifiers.
- Deletion — reset your Advertising ID or request deletion through Google’s own account tools, since we do not hold this data ourselves.
- Opt-Out of Sale/Sharing (CCPA, California residents) — you may opt out of personalized advertising at any time via your device’s ad settings, as described in Section 5.
- Objection to Processing (GDPR, EEA/UK residents) — you may withdraw advertising consent at any time via the in-app consent options.
Because we do not collect or hold any personal data ourselves, most of these rights are exercised directly through your device’s Android settings or through Google’s own privacy tools, linked above.
8. Children’s Privacy
This App is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided personal information through any third-party service used in this App, we will take steps to have that information deleted.
Advertisements in this App are served through Google AdMob, which may collect technical identifiers as described in Section 5. If you believe a child has used this App and interacted with ads in a way that concerns you, please contact us using the details in Section 10.
9. Data Security
The App operates primarily offline for its comparison and measurement features, so most of your data never leaves your device. Technical identifiers collected by Google AdMob are transmitted using encrypted (TLS) connections and stored on Google’s infrastructure under Google’s own security practices.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App, its features, or legal requirements. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
